Consists of records of the Departments of Public Utilities and Public Safety, and of George Howie and C.A. Harrell from 1926 to 1957. Contains ordinances about electrical rates, statements of operation and budget from the Cincinnati Street Railway Company, and correspondence with the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company, the Cincinnati Transit Company and others. Topics include street lighting, bus stops, railroad noises, parking, taxicabs, utilities, crosswalks, traffic lights and signs, Lunken Airport, etc. The collection also has records on the location and maintenance of electric poles, blueprints of streetcar loading platforms ("Howie's hurdles") and lists of accidents at these platforms.
